5 Let me tell you about my day...

Work. It's a part of life, and the lucky ones find something that they're passionate about and enjoy doing. I think regardless of how much you like the subject of your work, you will occasionally have one of those days, or one of those bosses.

A guy I work with in Indiana, has an interesting rule he and his wife follow. They do not talk about work. At all. He sometimes forgets what her job title is, because he has such a vague understanding about her work. At first I thought it was pretty weird; what could they possibly talk about if they can't discuss time they've spent in the majority of their day?? And I know that he loves his job. They allow themselves the freedom of not venting to one another. Certain times and people I'm certain force them to break this rule. But they also realize there's more to life, and they try to keep their relationship together fresh and free from obstacles. It seems very selfless to me.

So, thank you God for letting me set my eyes on you, wherever I find you in my day. You are visible to me in the weariness of my day, the comfort and peace and hope that allows my soul freedom from drudgery. There is more to life than our own problems, and if we allow our eyes to be lifted to a higher calling and purpose, we free ourselves from focusing on that annoying little splinter to see the masterpiece of life laid before us.
