Hello blogging world! I have decided jump in to the world of blogging, head first! I have been inspired to start blogging because of the song by Matt Redman, "10,000 Reasons". The whole song creates a feeling of deep gratitude to God. The song has words my soul has often whispered to me, but I have frequently ignored, and silenced. So I thought, what if I tried to count the things in my life, in the everyday, that are from God?
And not just the super awesome fantastic things. (Since I'm basing the blog off of a song, you can expect a lot of song references!) "Blessed Be Your Name" (by Matt Redman again!) lyrics are these:
"Blessed be your name
In the land that is plentiful
Where your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be your name."
BUT ALSO:
"Blessed be your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be your name."
So no matter what, bless God, seek God, and allow your heart and soul to rejoice that He is present in all things. This song reminds me of the story of Job, an Old Testament character that has everything, and loses everything, but refuses to turn his back in God. I haven't even come close to that type of suffering, but I know there have been more than a few times that I've blamed God for my worries first.
So here goes my list. I want to list 1,000 times that my heart sees God, and to acknowledge the Love my God shows to me in normal everyday life, by his presence and majestic beauty.
#1. My mom. She is an amazing person, and today she came to spend the day with me. I am looking for a house, which is freaking me out enough with all the worry of financial responsibility, am I choosing the right location, blah blah blah. Mom is my rock, and I am so thankful for her today!! Plus she has endless sound effects (mostly frightened squeaks, directed at my driving habits I think), and the laughter was soul healing. Praise Him!
